The Millstone Recreation Commission is sponsoring an Adult Art Class on Saturday, March 7th, 2009 from 9 a.m. to noon in Borough Hall. The event is open to all and free for Millstone Borough residents. Participants may want to bring an old apron or wear old clothes.
The first class will teach the art of one stroke painting (aka tole painting). This is a fun beginner class and no talent is necessary. Participants will be working with acrylic paint on paper and other various surfaces. This is a fun, easy and relaxing type of art that will surprise you and your friends at how artistic you may actually be!
Schedule:
9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Intro to the art of one stroke painting, brushes, loading the brush, pratices strokes, color combinations that work, composition, and more…
10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: painting flowers on paper… step by step
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: more one stroke painting ideas and painting other surfaces as well… fabric, pottery, etc.
This will our first adult/senior activity and depending on participation we may have more classes to follow.
